Saudi Arabia opens High Speed Train to Public

Saudi Arabia’s new high-speed train opened for the public on Thursday for travellers and pilgrims to travel between the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. The Haramain high-speed railway system will run at a speed of 300 km per hour to cover a distance of 450 km via the Red Sea port of Jeddah. Two trips are planned to be initiated in both directions. It is expected to reduce the travel time between Makkah and Madinah from several hours to just 120 minutes.
