02/03/2020

Ministry of health and prevention explains it may cause stress on the respiratory system.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention on Saturday advised the public not to wear the N-95 facial masks as it may cause stress on the respiratory system and lead to future respiratory diseases. Children are strictly prohibited to use these masks.

The N-95 is intended for only medical staff working in places where infected patients are being treated.

Face masks bought to protect people against the spread of coronavirus could do more harm than good, health authorities have warned.

The spread of Covid-19 has led to a global run on face masks, including in the UAE.

Much of the panic buying has focused on N95 masks, which are worn by doctors due to their ability to filter out 95 percent of small particles.
